He has a special passion for fearful patients and listens to patients’ concerns. He understands the value of having a smile that is beautiful as well as healthy as he strives to help each patient achieve their ideal smile. With his extensive training and experience, Dr. Martin is able to offer exceptional care and comfort for the most challenging dental problems in advanced cosmetic, reconstructive, implant, and sedation dentistry. His vast experience in placing implants, and bone grafting, makes him a leading implant practitioner in the WNY area.

Dr. Andrew Burke is a highly skilled and respected dentist based in Western New York. Born and raised in the region, he attended the University at Buffalo, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology in 2007, followed by his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2012. After completing dental school, Dr. Burke pursued a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Buffalo, NY, further honing his clinical expertise.
With over a decade of experience, Dr. Burke is well-versed in all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular focus on dental implants and digital dentistry. As a recognized leader in implant dentistry in the Buffalo area, he has successfully performed over 20,000 implant procedures. His advanced skills have made him a sought-after speaker at national conferences, where he educates fellow professionals on the latest advancements in implant techniques and other cutting-edge dental procedures.
Dr. Burke was one of the first in Buffalo to earn IV sedation licensure in the area, building on his many years of expertise in sedation dentistry. By doing so, he reinforced his dedication to patient comfort, understanding its crucial role in providing high-quality, compassionate care. His commitment to remaining at the cutting edge of dental innovation is evident through his ongoing pursuit of knowledge and his active contributions to advancing the field.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Burke serves as President of the Professional Dental Alliance of New York, where he mentors and supports dentists across the state. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the Erie County Dental Society.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Burke enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Maryam, and their two sons. The family shares a love for the outdoors, sports, and travel, and they are passionate fans of the Buffalo Bills.
Dr. Alex is committed to excellence in dentistry and is highly qualified to provide you with the best in dental care. He has extensive training in all aspects of general dentistry including sedation, oral surgery, implant, cosmetic & restorative dentistry, root canals, dentures & orthodontics. Knowing how a healthy, beautiful smile can change a life, he is especially passionate about cosmetic dentistry and continues to invest in learning about the latest cosmetic techniques to improve smiles. When not in the office, you can find Dr. Alex enjoying his free time with his wife Lauren, their 1-year-old daughter Emilia and their goldendoodle Moseley.

Dr. Erin Sweeney is dedicated to serving her patients with clinical proficiency and utmost integrity. Dr. Erin is fully trained in and provides her patients with the full scope of general dentistry services including removable dentures, root canal therapy, dental implants, and oral surgery. She has a special interest in facial esthetics and cosmetic dentistry, having completed specialty courses in using injectables to relieve clenching, grinding and TMJ pain, and improving appearance. Her patients appreciate her skill, attention to detail, gentleness and good listening skills. She loves her Buffalo Bills, her dog Paul, and is an avid music fan, who can be heard daily throughout the office singing along to the radio.

Dr. Lisa Chang is dedicated to treating her patients with the utmost compassion and care while offering excellent dentistry. Although a native Torontonian, she has lived in Buffalo for almost 15 years and is a graduate from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She has completed training in all aspects of dentistry including cosmetic and restorative dentistry, endodontic therapy, orthodontics, oral surgery, removable dentures and has completed over 300 hours in implant dentistry training. Throughout her years as a dentist, she has also volunteered with local outreach programs and has served on an international dental mission trip.
Besides dentistry, Dr. Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and friends on both sides of the border, cooking, home-improvement projects and cheering on the Buffalo Bills! Dr. Lisa has also watched her family grow during her time at Westermeier Martin, as she and her husband have welcomed their son.

Dr. Barsoum attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Boston. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Toronto with honors in 2022. While in Toronto, Dr. Barsoum earned the Dr. Malcom Yasny Honour Award for his leadership serving as Dental Student Society President and Class President. Dr Barsoum then completed a 1-year post-graduate General Practice Residency in 2023 at St Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut where he graduated with the E. Gerrard Keen, D.D.S. award in recognition of motivation and clinical skills in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Dr. Barsoum loves what he does in the field of dentistry and enjoys meeting new people every day. He is an avid runner and has completed 3 marathons to date. Dr. Barsoum is no stranger to sports as he loves to play soccer and basketball and he cheers for his favorite teams Arsenal and the Toronto Raptors. During his time off Dr. Barsoum loves to travel to visit family and friends all across the world and to explore new cultures. As a newbie to upstate New York, Dr. Barsoum is looking forward to serving patients and getting recommendations for the best wings in town!
Dr. Caitlin Viele Haggerty is passionate about delivering high-quality, compassionate care. She loves getting to know her patients and making sure they feel comfortable, cared for, and truly listened to at every visit. Dr. Haggerty graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and went on to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at UB. Originally from New Jersey, she quickly fell in love with Buffalo and now proudly calls it home. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, all things crafty, and cheering on the Bills!
Dr. John N. Athans, DDS, is a Buffalo-area native with over 30 years of dental practice experience. He completed his undergraduate studies at St. Bonaventure University and earned his dental degree from the University at Buffalo in 1989, followed by a specialty residency in dental oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
He is a member of several professional dental organizations and a past president of the Erie County Dental Society. Dr. Athans emphasizes personalized care using advanced dental technology and techniques. He specializes in general and cosmetic dentistry, including clear aligners, dental implants, and same-day Cerec™ crowns.
Outside of work, Dr. Athans enjoys golf, football, music, biking, walking, and spending time with his wife and three children.
Dr. Theo Udaipaul is committed to providing high–quality, compassionate dental care to every patient he sees. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto before earning his DMD degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He went on to complete an advanced education in General Dentistry resident at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, where he gained extensive experience in comprehensive dental care.
Dr. Theo has a particular interest in oral surgery but enjoys all aspects of general dentistry. His mission is to help patients achieve healthy, confident smiles with results that are both functional and aesthetic.
Outside of the dental office, Dr Theo enjoys keeping up with the NBA and NFL, being a die-hard Raptors fan. He recently found a new passion for golf and tries to play as much as he can. He is also a huge movie lover and huge Harry Potter fan; he is always up for a conversation about a new show or movie!
Dr. Maryam is a dentist that specializes in prosthodontics.
She was born in Iran, raised in Germany and Queens, New York. She received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Saint John’s University in Queens, New York. She is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2012, master’s degree in Oral Sciences in 2015 and Advanced Education degree in Prosthodontics in 2015.
She joined the Veterans Affairs Hospital in early 2016, where she has been providing specialized dental care to our nation’s Veterans and serving as a mentor and educator to residents enrolled in the Advanced Education in General Residency program. In addition to educating residents, she has previously taught at the Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and served as a lecturer at the Erie County Dental Society.
The dental specialty of prosthodonticsis a 3-year advanced training after completion of dental school, dedicated to creating optimal oral health, both in function and appearance, including dental implants, dentures, veneers, crowns and complex dental rehabilitation.
Dr. Maryam takes pride in practicing patient-centered and evidence-based dentistry, utilizing modern dental technology. She values efficient workflows, effective communication and a relationship that’s built on mutual trust and respect.
She and her husband, Dr. Andrew Burke, met at dental school. They are proud parents of two energetic boys and reside in Clarence. Dr. Maryam is a soccer mom, an enthusiastic runner, and avid traveler who enjoys learning about other cultures.
