In this series we will interview the four and share their stories and photos. Once their dental work is complete we will share before and after photos of these deserving gentlemen who served our country.
Army Specialist Michael Vickery, is a father of two daughters, said he “always put my daughters and my wife’s needs ahead of my own.” This was the reason, he shared, that his oral health suffered. Vickery, from Orchard Park served in the Army in 1997 following in the footsteps of his best friend, Ricky McGrane. “We served at the same time,” he said.
He served for two years on a peace mission in Germany and a half a year in Fort Knox, Kentucky. In June 2000 he received an honorable medical discharge. He was a decorated soldier and earned numerous honors and medals.
Michael said his father also served in the Army, in Viet Nam, and that they shared the same rank.
A friend of Michael’s saw the commercial that Westermeier-Martin Dental Care was running and she nominated him. “She took the initiative, emailed and nominated me,” Michael said, adding that, “I was just blown away!”
Wanting to be more confident in his smile was one of the main reasons he is looking forward to his smile make-over. “I’m looking forward to the process starting and to having a fresh start with a new smile in the New Year,” he said.
He recently met with his dental care provider, Dr. Ruhland who began the examination and will be putting together a plan for Michael’s dental make-over.
